The logo design formed the basis of the branding system. The dome captures the rich historical and architectural heritage (think of Monticello and the Rotunda of the University of Virginia). The peak represents the natural scenic beauty of the mountains. The sage color represents the progressive nature of the community and the font reflects traditional quality and comfort as well as contemporary innovation.

Once the logo was established, the brand was implemented in a wide range of applications including: a full stationery suite, signage, web site design (in collaboration with Category 4 Design), apparel, promotional items, packaging, and templates for advertising and brochures.

To complete the project, Gotham Graphix wrote and produced a full-blown, very detailed Graphic Standards Manual. A good graphic standards manual serves as a concise summary of the rules and regulations governing the use of a brand. Included in CACVB’s manual are: font usage, primary and secondary color palettes, and how the brand is to be used in applications such as stationery, signage, and advertising.
